Blogging Software

I am using Ecto for Mac to update this blog. I bought it ($20) a few years ago, and now that I’m (apparently) blogging again, I’ll suggest it to my masses of readers out there. They’ve upgraded it to version 3.0 since I’ve last used it and it’s easier to use than the older version that I liked.

  1. Does it noticeably expand the functionality of the blog over the standard free interface from wordpress?

    • It’s analogous to using a mail application vs. webmail. It also accepts plug-ins, though two of the more popular ones, Flickr and Amazon, are temporarily unusable since those websites updated to a new layout. I think it’s easier to manage drafts and a faster method to make endless minor tweaks to posts. Download the trial and give it a whirl.

      • Duly noted. Thanks for the suggestion…
